Registration is now open for the 4th Annual Scramble to Defeat ALS which will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Butter Valley Golf Course. We're planning the same format as last year and really hope you can join us in supporting local familes dealing with ALS.
Team Lenny's Light was established in 2021 by the Youth Outreach of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, PA in order to honor our friend and church member Lenny Rafalko. We sponsor an annual golf outing and give oversight for the team's participation in the annual Lehigh Valley Walk to Defeat ALS held at Cedar Crest College. Team members raise funds and walk with hundreds of others to find the key to unlock this degenerative disease.
Composed of 55 youth and adults, members of the church and community, Team Lenny's Light raised more than $10,000 for research and support in 2022. The 2023 ALS Walk was an incredible event. We walked in light rain, but that only served to remind us of God showering us with grace, hope, love, and peace. Team Lenny’s Light once again took first place by raising over $7,600 in the fight to unlock ALS and assist families. Lenny Rafalko cut the ribbon to start the walk. Our distinctive team t-shirts, designed by our youth, were spotted everywhere during the walk!
In June 2023 the 1st Annual Team Lenny’s Light Scramble to Defeat ALS Charity Golf Outing was held at the Butter Valley Golf Course. The Outing included 120 Golfers, 18 Hole Sponsors, and more than 50 volunteers. The Outing grossed over $27,000, the net proceeds of which were given to the ALS Community.
Our 2nd Annual Scramble to Defeat ALS was held on June 21, 2024 at Butter Valley Golf Course. We had 120 Golfers, 3 Event Sponsors, 15 Hole Sponsors and lots of volunteers! Net proceeds from the outing exceeded $20,000 all of which were given the local ALS Community.
Our 3rd Annual Scramble to Defeat ALS was held on June 20, 2025 at Butter Valley Golf Course. We had 120 Golfers, 3 Event Sponsors, 4 Super Sponsors, and 11 Hole Sponsors. Once again our volunteers did a wonderful job and Butter Valley was an excellent host! Net proceeds from the outing exceeded $23,000 all of which helped 4 families in our area who are struggling with ALS Care.
